Getting Married

Weddings in the Anglican Parish
of Hunters Hill

Congratulations on your decision to be married!

We hope the time leading up to your wedding day will be an exciting and happy one. We know it will also be busy, so we are ready and willing to help in any way we can to make your wedding day extra special.

Our Parish is blessed with two beautiful sandstone churches in the glorious, leafy surrounds of Hunters Hill in northern Sydney – either are the perfect setting to start the most wonderful journey of married life.

Married at

St Mark’s

One of the oldest remaining buildings in Hunters Hill, this historic sandstone Church was moved from its original location on Figtree Hill to where it currently stands nestled in the tree-lined streets of Figtree Road.

The addition of stained-glass windows has enhanced the traditional ambiance of this lovely, quaint piece of Hunters Hill history.

In normal circumstances there is adequate space for 65 guests, and a large sanctuary to accommodate your bridal party.

The Kinloch heritage organ will play triumphantly as you make your entrance, and the bell will ring on the way out to announce your marriage.

The Church is also air-conditioned for your comfort.

Married at

All Saints’

Driving through the parkland gardens is a fitting arrival to one of the most beautiful sandstone churches of Sydney. This stunning, gothic building displays remarkable stained glass, a long, wide, red-carpeted isle and a spectacular timber roof.

Our historic Bevington Pipe organ sits to the left of the timber altar, surrounded by beautiful decorative tiles.

As you reach the sanctuary steps, the organ will echo throughout the building, uplifted by the Church bell ringing to announce your marriage and welcome in your celebrations.

There is ample street parking surrounding the Church, and access to substantial grounds if required.

The Church is also air-conditioned for your comfort.

We are most happy to discuss with you the possibility of being married at your special place with our minister presiding.

Further Information

You most likely have many questions, which we hope you can find by reading our “Getting Married” booklet.

If you have further questions, including confirming availability of dates, please contact the Rector, Rev’d Michael Armstrong, via email.

He would be most happy to meet with you and answer your questions in person, and also show you around if you are not familiar with either of our Churches.

You are also most welcome to come along to one of our Sunday Services which will give you a chance to experience our Church and get to know us better.

To "commit" going ahead

The first step is to complete the Marriage Application Form, send this to Rev’d Michael and seek to confirm the date, and once confirmed, pay a deposit (details on the application form).

Once this is completed, we will make a mutually suitable time to meet together and begin the Notice of Intention and make plans together.
